Orphans

 LETS TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.

My heart breaks many a times when I get to understand the plight of orphans, children of single parents and street children.
It doesn't mean that all of them suffer, but you would quickly admit that most of them undergo so much pain in terms of accessing basic needs.
''Please give me five bob (Ksh. 5), or buy me something I eat, I'm so hungry!'' That was an encounter with one small boy belonging to a single mum at Roysambu-Nairobi.
This is just but a study case. Many of such children are found in major towns in Kenya and the rural areas-actually all over the nation.

These people, deserve our help by all means even as far as the standard of the Bible and good will are concerned. There are no specific people to do this, all of us have to do something.
In the sad contrast, we have shifted the burden to the government and the 'rich'. What you might not know and luckily I'm telling you is that even the rich young man in the Bible found it difficult to sell his riches and give to the poor.
Moreover, the government is just a single entity charged with the responsibility to oversee all the issues affecting the country. So you begin to understand it can only stretch a little bit to help the lucky few.

Whatever you have can help someone, if it is ten shillings, you can give out five, if two shirts you can as well give one out and remain with one. This may sound ridiculous, but take a moment and fix yourself in the shoes of the suffering one, you would wish to receive the same treatment.
I am humbly appealing to all fellow Kenyans and whoever reads this article that the time is ripe to give out in help of the poor regardless of the measure of what you have. Big thanks to those who are already doing this.
Facts have it that slightly past half the Kenyan population live below the poverty line, so if all and sundry will embrace this request, we are good to go in pursuit to eradicate poverty, improve health and give education to those affected-the less fortunate.
